Allow me to introduce myself — I am Viking Wolf!

I’m many things – a dude, a father, a husband, a lifter of heavy things, a drinker of coffee… the list goes on. But anyone who knows me knows that I’m a gamer at my core.

It all started with playing Sonic the Hedgehog with my brother when I was a child. Well, sort of. I’d get to Dr. Robotnik on the first level, the boss music would scare the hell out of me, and I’d restart the level. Over and over again.

Fast forward to Christmas Day in 2nd grade, when I got the first console that would truly be mine – a Nintendo 64, along with Super Mario 64 and Star Wars 64. It’s been almost 30 years since then. Graphics have evolved, games have become more immersive, and gaming has firmly established itself as a massive part of pop culture.

In fact, my passion for gaming is exactly what landed me my first job at a newspaper! I maintained “High Score Gaming” at The Sentinel’s website in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Three months later, I wound up on Fox News discussing whether or not violent video games were to blame for the Sandy Hook massacre. (No, they weren’t.)

Of course, life happened. My career took me all over the state, I met the love of my life, started a family … but my desire to write and fire up my blog always festered.

Now, I’m back.

As a full-time journalist, I’ll work to keep up major headlines within the gaming world. Whether it’s a huge game reveal, the launch of a major title, or maybe just something I find interesting, you’ll find it here.

I’ll also write reviews for the games I buy, sharing whether they’re worth the time or money, complete with screenshots and video gameplay footage. Plus, I’ll occasionally pull back the curtain and write personal blogs about what’s going on with me, something in the gaming world that piques my interest, or anything else in between.

My tentative goal is to aim for 1-3 blogs a week, depending on real life, work, etc. I have a bunch of ideas I want to roll out, but for now, I want to focus on getting back into a groove. Also, bear with me as I navigate WordPress — this blog/site is very much still getting tweaked!

The next order of business? I’m looking at covering the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct and all the other announcements out of Nintendo’s presentation.
